TO MY FUTURE DAUGHTER
MY LITTLE ONE,
From your first breathe, my heart has been undone by you.
You are loved, deeper and wider than you could ever know. An unconditional love, one that is formed before you were born. Know this, feel it, and understand it. It’s the first love you will know on this Earth.
I write this for you to know who I am, in this moment, at the age of 27. Before you were born, before you knew me. To know that am but a man, learning to be healthy and follow our dear Jesus. I wish it was easier my dear, to dig roots up from your heart. Yet it’s not, and you will experience this trouble as well. Don’t give up love, don’t give in. Christ is more, and always will be.
You’re heart my love, is beautiful, yet prone to wander. It will run, fight, and long to find worth. You will be tempted to find it, anywhere and everywhere. Don’t listen to it. Breathe, and listen to your soul. The world will preach to follow your heart, don’t, it will lead you to death. The heart must be bridled, and taught how to love. As I am learning how to love, you will as well, I wish I could be the perfect father, but I won’t be, and I accept it; you will not be the perfect daughter, I accept it, and love you no less from it.
I will and always will be your earthly father, but I will be far from perfect my love. I’m on borrowed time by God, for he will always be your real father.
I love you always.
Your father.
